I'm partial to the 7 Seconds version of 99 Red Balloons. Of course I'm a pinko scumbag, so whatever.

Madeleine Peyroux is awful. I'll quote myself here, "wow, chris' cover mix is really good". But that was before I listened to Madeleine Peyroux's cover on this mix. It made me want to puke nails. And then take the nails and shove them into my eye holes. Someone should tell her that music wasn't meant to be completely rhythmically free. The melodic equivalent would be if I said I was covering Some Song by Some Guy and simply sang random notes to the correct beat. Congrats, Madeleine, you sang someone else's words when you felt like it with reckless abandon for any semblance of rhythmic understanding. Ugh, I'm spent from talking about it.
Other than, it's a great mix. And I love the cover art too. Is that Mike Moyer himself? Attempting to be in cognito with glasses and cover his baldness with a snazzy hat?
Reel Big Fish's version of "Hungry Like the Wolf" is maybe my favorite cover. Dig it up, dust it off, amd maybe it'll make Under the Cover Part Deux.
