Bride of South By Southwest

(Submitted by Tori)

We all know that the beautiful thing about SxSW is that there are about as many bands playing as there are ways to embarrass yourself on St. Patrick’s Day. One mix simply will not do! Behold as we bring you a few more of the best of the (south) west. Same deal – these songs are free to stream or download, so get on it and watch your hipster cred creep up a little higher. Congratulations kid, you’re now ready for that oh-so ironic mustache.

  1. "Las Cruces Jail" - Two Gallants
  2. "Content Was Always My Favorite Colour" - The Most Serene Republic
  3. "I Wanna Be Your Pajamas" - Andre Williams
  4. "Rubber Traits" - Why?
  5. "Publish My Love" - Rogue Wave
  6. "I, Manface" - Man Man
  7. "Hold On" - Magnet
  8. "New American Apathy" - Mazarin
  9. "Share Your Vanity" - The Hard Lessons
  10. "Shot Down" - Nine Black Alps
  11. "Standing In The Way Of Control" - The Gossip
  12. "The Fall" - Peter and the Wolf
  13. "Northbound 35" - Jeffrey Foucault
  14. "We All Lose One Another" - Jason Collett

All the guys from Mazarin use to work for me. They were relatixly hard working dudes, but Mike had a bit of a hipster chip on his shoulder. I still like him though, despite that dew on his head. I also have always really loved Mazarin, I heard them before I knew them and then I knew them later and hired them to lift things for me. Good guys, good at music and good at lifting. Seriuosly though check out the first album "watch it happen again" the song wheats was Philadelphia's break up song the summer of say 2001. Funny how "oh, Mandy" was that song of last summer here in Philly. Good times

Is it lame to comment on your own post? Ah well. I should mention that if The Gossip or Man Man ever come to a stage near you, don’t miss it. They are both pretty good when it comes to recorded music, but they will rock your ass off live.
